Winfield Police Department Update - June 2, 2020
The Winfield Police Department is monitoring reports from surrounding communities of
incidents of looting and damage to property. It appears that malls, big box stores and national chains are most frequently being targeted. As of this writing, there have been no incidents in the Village of Winfield, however residents should be aware of this situation and pay attention to your surroundings. Some local businesses within Winfield have elected to close out of an abundance of caution, residents should confirm a business is opened by phone or their website before making the trip.
The Winfield Police Department is in communication with law enforcement agencies in neighboring communities and throughout the region, sharing information and working together to monitor the situation and address issues of common interest.
The Village and the Police Department will continue to communicate with the public as appropriate. Updates will be shared as they become available on the Village's Website and Facebook Page.
