CLIFF MORTENSON; Chairman; 15 MR. DENNIS CLARK, MR. PETER DOPPER, 16 MR. JAY OLSON, MR. STEVE ROMANELLI, 17 MS. DENEEN THOM, MS. RHONDA PEEBLES, Members. 18 19 VILLAGE STAFF: MR. WILLIAM BARLOW, Village Manager; 20 MS. CARRI TULLIER, Development Director; MR. DAN WATSON, Village Engineer. 21 22 REPORTED BY: 23 SANDRA M. TENNIS, CSR, RMR. 24 EFFICIENCY REPORTING 630.682.8887 www.EfficiencyReporting.com 2 1 MR. MORTENSON: The next item on the agenda is new 2 business. We're going to have a public hearing 3 regarding a request for a Planned Unit Development for 4 a heli-pad. Central DuPage Hospital is the Petitioner. 5 Is Central DuPage Hospital here tonight? Okay. 6 Now, before we get started with the meeting 7 tonight, anybody who wishes to speak in regards to this 8 will have to get up, give your name and your address 9 and be sworn in. 10 Do I have a motion to open the public hearing? 11 MS. PEEBLES: So moved. 12 MR. MORTENSON: Second? 13 MR. CLARK: Second. 14 MR. MORTENSON: All in favor? 15 (Ayes heard.) 16 MR. MORTENSON: Okay. Central DuPage Hospital, 17 Petitioner. Would you like to get up, give a little 18 brief idea of the heli-pad? 19 (Witness sworn.) 20 MR. SPEAR: Thank you my name is Jim Spear. I'm 21 the Executive Vice-President of Central DuPage 22 Hospital. 23 Mr. Commissioner, Planning Commission and 24 Panel, we respectfully would like to withdraw our EFFICIENCY REPORTING 630.682.8887 www.EfficiencyReporting.com 3 1 petition for moving the helicopter pad from where it is 2 presently to across the street. We attended the 3 Village Board meeting where we proposed that and the 4 Village Board deferred that to this committee. 5 As a part of that, we went in to investigate 6 where to put the heli-pad as we proceed to do this 7 building over there to build a bed pavilion for single 8 rooms. We had a couple different alternatives. Going 9 across the street we thought was the most convenient 10 and the most cost-effective alternative. We did do 11 noise studies and we felt like those noise studies 12 proved that it was within acceptable tolerances. 13 However, having listened to the discussion at 14 the Village Board meeting and the residents of 15 Winfield, we can proceed with keeping it on our campus. 16 We'd like to move it from where it is presently down to 17 sort of where the old entrance was to the hospital off 18 of Winfield Road. 19 So we respectfully request our Petition to be 20 canceled. 21 MR. MORTENSON: Okay. Thank you. 22 Because this is a public hearing, we have 23 opened the public hearing on this matter. However, 24 Central DuPage Hospital has removed this now EFFICIENCY REPORTING 630.682.8887 www.EfficiencyReporting.com 4 1 effectively from the agenda. I don't necessarily -- I 2 mean, I am not going to discourage anybody from talking 3 about it but it's a moot fact now that they've removed 4 it from the agenda. 5 Does anybody here tonight still want to discuss 6 it? Mr. Norman? 7 MR. NORMAN: John A. Norman 27W705 Windemere Road. 8 (Witness sworn.) 9 MR. NORMAN: I had a great speech prepared here 10 tonight but you guys have preempted that on me. So all 11 I have left to say now is thank you. Thank you very 12 much for putting patient's safety first. I know you 13 had to step up back from where you were but I want to 14 sincerely thank you for doing that. 15 (Applause heard.) 16 MR. MORTENSON: Yes, sir? Name and address. 17 MR. WILSON: Steve Wilson, 413 Kimball Road, 18 Winfield. 19 (Witness sworn.) 20 MR. ROMANELLI: I want to thank you, too. Okay? 21 But I do have a question. We've been talking about a 22 Town Center II in that old Frank's building. Is this 23 still a viable plan? 24 MR. MORTENSON: I have to interrupt you there. I EFFICIENCY REPORTING 630.682.8887 www.EfficiencyReporting.com 5 1 have to keep it according to the agenda. 2 THE WITNESS: Okay. 3 MR. MORTENSON: So it would have to be in regards 4 to the heliport at this point only. I'm sorry. 5 MR. WILSON: That's okay. I said what I wanted to. 6 Thank you. 7 MR. MORTENSON: Is there anyone else tonight that 8 would like to speak in regards to heliport? 9 Second time. Is there anyone else tonight that 10 would like to speak in regards to the heliport? 11 Okay. Do I have a motion to close the public 12 hearing? 13 MR. ROMANELLI: So moved. 14 MR. MORTENSON: Second? 15 MR. DOPPER: Second. 16 MR. MORTENSON: All in favor? 17 (Ayes heard.) 18 MR.
