The Winfield Board of Fire and Police Commissioners consists of three members to be appointed by the Village President, with the consent of the Village Trustees. Members of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners shall serve for a term of three years.
The duty of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners is to make appointments to Police Departments of the Village where applicable, and they shall conduct and hold all entrance and promotional examinations and exercise such other powers and duties as provided by law.
