Each Building Permit Application should be submitted with the necessary permit fee(s) and information.  The application lists the information that is required depending on the project.  Please make all checks payable to Village of Winfield.

The building department makes every attempt to expedite the review of each submittal.  The initial review is typically one week depending on workload.  The applicant will be notified when the permit is ready, which may be picked up or mailed upon request.  It is the responsibility of the resident to obtain and post the permit.  Permits remain in effect for 180 days from the date of issuance. Permits may be renewed for a fee with approval from the Community Development Department.

The builder/contractor is responsible for requesting all required inspections as construction proceeds.

For commercial buildings a request for a Certificate of Occupancy can be submitted when construction is complete and all required inspections have been performed and approved.

For residential buildings, an Application for Residential Occupancy must be submitted and approved before the dwelling unit may be occupied.
