Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.)
The basic 10-week D.A.R.E. program is taught in all of Winfield Schools to the fifth grade classes. Christine West is the D.A.R.E. officer for the Winfield Police Department and she is able to bring the experience from the street to the student. Officer West has seen firsthand the harm caused by drugs; harm to the people who use them and harm to their family and friends who care about them. This experience is valuable to the students and to their teachers. The Winfield Police Department is committed to the D.A.R.E. program as a long-term goal to help young people stay drug free.
