The Winfield Police Department is divided into three divisions:   
Administration; Patrol; and Investigations

Administrative Services Division:
The administrative services division is located in the Winfield Police Department a 27W465 Jewell Rd. The division is made of the Records Section and the Office of the Chief of Police. It is staffed by the Chief of Police, Deputy Chief, Records Clerk, and the Chief's Secretary. All police department records relative to arrests, accident investigations, and location of incidents are recorded and maintained by administrative services. Citizens requesting copies of reports and statistical data kept by the police department may obtain the information from the administrative services division. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM  <Top

Patrol Division:
The patrol division is the backbone of the police department. It is charged with the responsibility of preserving the peace and enforcing all laws and ordinances. Uniformed officers prevent crime by routine patrol and conducting investigations of complaints, accidents, and criminal activity. Officers are encouraged and empowered to develop relationships with community members to problem solve and enhance the quality of life.

Bicycle Patrol Program: Specially trained officers are deployed on police equipped mountain bicycles to patrol the streets. Bike Officers are able to respond to congested areas in a short amount of time and approach criminal activity in covert fashion. Bike Officers are able to interact more with citizens while riding a bicycle rather than in an automobile.<Top

Investigations Division:
The investigations division conducts follow-up investigations of crime, apprehends offenders involved, and prepares cases for prosecution by the States Attorney Office. Serve as youth officers in cases involving juveniles, or crimes against juveniles. Preserve evidence, take photographs, and maintain custody of recovered property. <Top
